Rocket  radios were popular with boys in the late 50s and early 60s.  This one is fresh out of the box.

     The silver tip is a knob that slides a rod in and out of the fuselage, varying the tuning.

     How well does it work? I clipped it to a wire stretched across my roof and was able to hear five Austin radio stations across the AM band loud and clear.
