Back to Radios

Back to Tom Polk's Home Page

1963: The Beatles had arrived, JFK was gone.

Until now, I never heard of Wilco manufacturing.

Yet this radio is one of my absolute favorites. Excellent styling and fine construction. The plastic is as rich as it gets. The dotted area behind the tuning dial is tiny 3-D gold reverse painted pyramids, over which have been applied as thick a clear coat as I have ever seen.

The volume indicator, shown with "OFF" in the window, displays a series of increasingly bigger red dots corresponding with the volume.

The top and side, respectively, show antenna and earphone jacks.
