Known for rich and vibrant colors, Candle is a Japanese transistor radio manufacturer.  Of the Candle radios I have seen, none had a run-of-the-mill design. (Look at the red one)

This rich blue radio is typical of late 50's styling. The punch-formed metal logo plate has the beginnings of the shape of a "V", which is common in the late 50s-early 60s. Find more "V" examples here and here.
